    • What is Paul's perspective on false teaching?
    • This explains the "why" of Revelation 13:11-18. What is the "why"?
  • Proverbs 18 is another look at a selfish person. Explore the following 5 verses. Discuss what each one is trying to convey. What story is this chapter telling? Who are the actors?

    Verse 1 One who separates himself seeks his own desire;

He quarrels against all sound wisdom.

Verse 2 A fool does not delight in understanding,

But in revealing his own mind.

Verse 12 Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty,

    But humility goes before honor.

Verse 13 One who gives an answer before he hears,

It is foolishness and shame to him.

Verse 19 A brother who is offended is harder to be won than a strong city,

And quarrels are like the bars of a citadel.

Compare these verses to the wisdom James provides in James 1:19-21; 26.

Contrast these people with who John tells the Christians to be 1 John 3:16-18.

  • Spend the time today talking about the five aspects of how Jesus is so much better than His substitute in Revelation 13:5-8. These are the Five aspects.

    1. His words.

    2. What He accomplished in 3.5 years.

    3. The battle He is waging.

    4. The diversity of the body of Christ.

    5. His worthiness for worship.

Talk about how these things relate to your lives. This is a good time for stories and anecdotes from your own experience, rather than an in-depth Bible study, but pool your knowledge of the Bible on these issues.

These 2 questions are for discussion. You won't come to a conclusion.

    Daniel 7:9-27

    • How does this correspond with Revelation?
    • Take time to meditate on the greatness of God in these verses.
  • Isaiah 14:12-15

This text has been historically interpreted as referring to Satan, though it is in the context of the king of Babylon. The idea is that we get a glimpse behind the throne of Babylon to the actual power behind the throne - the 7 headed dragon.

Verse 12. The word Lucifer is not a proper name, but the Latin translation of the Hebrew word that means 'shining', bright or morning star = Venus, that rises just before the sun at one point of it's orbit.
